1. Complete the Application – Licensure by Endorsement. You can either fill out a paper form or fill the form out online.
2. Submit verifications of licensure for your original state of licensure and a current state of licensure. If your license in your original state of licensure is current you are only required to submit verification from that state. Also, if your state provides verification of licensure through Nursys.com please visit nursys.com and request that the verification be made available to the Virginia Board of Nursing. To avoid processing delays please submit paper verification of licensure as part of your application packet.
3. Submit official transcripts from your nursing education program which led to initial licensure. To avoid processing delays please submit your transcripts as part of your application packet.
4. Register for a Background Check
- Click on Application Registration
- Select Secretary of State (SOS)
- Choose Board of Nursing
