Leighanna Allman

Nurse Recruiter

What do you enjoy most about your work?

Teaching new travelers about the travel industry, and hearing experiences about how much my RN's love the facilities I place them in and the amazing things they get to see/do while traveling across the country. The most beautiful thing about what I do is that I get the privilege to be involved in the incredible things that my nurses do for patients on a daily basis.

What do you do for travelers that you feel is completely unique to you?

Absolute transparency! I am here to help find a solution that works for you, your family, and your lifestyle. I really enjoy thinking outside of the box to create unique opportunities for nurses to show their skillset and excel in their careers as well. I will work my hardest for you and ensure we always have a backup plan in the event of something unexpected.

What is your most valuable advice for the travelers you work with?

Ask questions - from before COVID to now, so much has changed within the industry. Social media/ads are great to get an idea to see where there are open jobs, but rates and availability are always changing. Be as flexible as you can because there is a lot more competition right now. Also, communicate with your recruiter. We are here for YOU! I want to know if you had a rough shift so you can vent and when you have an incredible shift so we can celebrate. We go through the good AND bad as a team!

Where did you grow up?

Tell us about your family (or pets!)

I grew up with many RNs in my family (which is why I have the utmost respect for what you do!), but now I am living in the Columbus area with my boyfriend, dog Bentley, and my cat Lola. I adore my boyfriend and dog, but Lola is definitely the love of my life! (Just don't tell them I said that)

What's your all-time favorite hobby?

Reading. I love my job, but we all need an escape! I am lucky enough to be someone that can fully immerse themselves in a book and forget where they are, and unpopular opinion: the book is ALWAYS better than the movie!
