HOW DO I GET MY NEW MEXICO
NURSING LICENSE?

To get a New Mexico nursing license, a travel nurse must do the following:
- Complete the Application – Licensure by Endorsement online.
- Submit license verifications.
- You can use a paper verification
- Or you can use Nursys online to request your verification be sent to the New Mexico Board of Nursing.
- Complete criminal background paperwork to 3M Cogent for both federal and state.
- Get fingerprinted.
- Obtain two fingerprint cards and register online or by phone: 1-877-996-6277.
- Pay $44 online or send payment with fingerprint cards.
- Get fingerprinted on the cards.
- Write registration id number on the back of both cards.
- Mail cards to: 3M Cogent, NM, CardScan, 639 N. Rosemeade Blvd., Pasadena, CA 91107.
- Nurses residing in Compact states are not eligible to apply.
The application must be completed in one year after the board receives the application, or it becomes null and void.
