HOW DO I GET MY MASSACHUSETTS
NURSING LICENSE?

As of July 1, 2017, the state of Massachusetts only accepts applications online. While most other state boards refer to the license a travel nurse needs as a “license by endorsement,” the Massachusetts Board of Nursing calls it a licensure by reciprocity.
Follow these steps to obtain a Massachusetts RN license:
- Access and complete the online application here.
- Click on “Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) Licensure Applicants.”
- Click on “RN Licensure by Reciprocity.”
- Read the rules and regulations. This is a requirement.
- Read the instructions for application.
- Create an account or log in to complete the application. For best results, use Google Chrome or Firefox. The system doesn’t support Safari or Internet Explorer.
- You will need to provide an electronic color copy of a recent 2×2 passport style photo. Find photo instructions/details here.
- Request license verifications for any nursing licenses you hold elsewhere that participate in Nursys by clicking here.
- To verify licenses from jurisdictions that do not participate in Nursys, use this form. (Fees may apply.)
- Request that your official final transcript that led to your RN licensure be sent directly to Professional Credentialing Services. Transcripts received from the applicant (rather than the school) will not be accepted.
- For help with your application, call (877) 887-9727 during business hours or email customerservice@pcshq.com.
