Celebrating Elizabeth Leach, RN, BSN: DAISY Award Winner and MSO Traveler

Apr 11, 2019

“Bound by paperwork, short on hands, sleep, and energy… nurses are rarely short on caring.”

This quote from nurse, educator, and author Sharon Hudacek rings incredibly true in today’s healthcare field. As CNO at Medical Staffing Options, I sometimes get the opportunity to meet nurses whose dedication to their patients and co-workers goes well beyond what’s necessary to just “get the job done.” For these nurses, their passion coincides with their career in a truly incredible way.

It’s with great pride that recruiter Rebecca Bateson and the rest of our team at Medical Staffing Options celebrate one such travel nurse, Elizabeth Leach, a recent recipient of The DAISY Award® For Extraordinary Nurses. Please join us in thanking Elizabeth for her dedication to her patients, their families, and her assigned facility!

Elizabeth is currently on assignment in California, and her recruiter, Rebecca, raves about her  providing the following comments:

“Liz is a fabulous pediatric nurse – as a recruiter, I’ve loved working with her. She traveled all the way from Washington DC to San Francisco. There she has worked on their pediatric oncology infusion team since August of 2018.”

Elizabeth’s manager also praised her efforts:

“Liz was a great resource and such a team player. She was able to not only care for our patients but jumped in to help offer suggestions for process improvements as well as unit committee initiatives.”

Please join the entire MSO team in thanking Elizabeth for her remarkable dedication to her patients, their families, and her peers on assignment!

About The DAISY Award® For Extraordinary Nurses

The DAISY Award honors the exceptional work nurses do for patients and families every day. The award was created in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, a patient who passed away in late 1993 after being diagnosed with the auto-immune disease ITP. Patrick’s family brainstormed about what they could do in his memory, and vividly recalled the skillful and compassionate care he received from his nurses during his eight-week hospitalization. To say thank you to nurses everywhere, they established a recognition program known today as The DAISY Award® For Extraordinary Nurses.
